Bonnie Gibbs

I was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. I grew up studying all kinds of art. My passion for photography started young. But an old boyfriend got me started taking photos again. I lived in Pennsylvania and New York where I ran bookstores. I am a bibliophile(book lover). My first job as a draftsman brought out my love of abstracts. I see everything in angles shadows and abstracts. I still consider myself a hippie. I grew up in New Orleans in the 60′s and 70′s during the hippie era.

I did not think of visual art for years. I was busy working on a novel when Katrina happened. I lost all my years of journallling, poetry and writings. As a result of Katrina I made a move to Phoenix, Arizona. The move to Phoenix was a reawakening for my love of photography.I got my first DSLR 3 years ago. I have taken classes and seminars to take better pictures. I just received a copy of Adobe Photoshop. I am slowly learning how to use it. My camera is always with me. My pictures show a unique view of objects, buildings and still lifes. I never see landscapes. I see shadows and shapes
